Lifeboat Visit – June 2018 – Coastal

On the 20/06/2018 the cubs had the opportunity to visit the RNLI lifeboat station thanks to Mrs. Freeman. The children were given a tour of the station, they were given talks on both the lifeboats they have there and were lucky enough to be allowed to board the smaller of the two vessels. They were taken upstairs to the lookout where they were given a talk on safety in the water, flags, what to do if they see someone in trouble and also told about FLOAT the advice they give to people who find themselves in trouble in the water. They were treated to a biscuit and drink by the hospitality lady Mrs. Riley. They were then shown into the room where the crew members change and were shown the equipment they wear. The children were able to try on some of the hats. The Cubs had an excellent visit and would like to thank the RNLI for allowing them to visit.
